Hamburg's Project Developments at a Glance
Our exclusive overview of the largest project developments in Hamburg provides a good insight into the booming industry of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
In the Hamburg-Ottensen district (Altona district), a model for modern urban development is emerging: on a total of 8.5 hectares, twelve soccer fields, around 1,200 flats will be built in the coming years, commercial premises for around 30 local craftsmen and service providers and offices for more as 1,500 employees.
Quantum is part of this urban development and one of three involved project developers. On an area of approx. 2.5 hectares, Quantum plans to build a residential area with around 460 apartments at the present location of the Euler Hermes skyscraper between Friedensallee, Bahrenfelder Kirchenweg and the railway tracks, 155 of which are publicly funded. The five to eight-storey residential buildings are arranged in a courtyard. A building bar adopts the original industrial architecture with a shed roof and creates a spatial and architectural connection to Handwerker Hall 7. The adjoining Kolbenhöfe, green areas, paths and a spacious playground complete the planning concept of the Altona architects Schenk + Waiblinger.
